Courses


Information

Courses are usually run over a two day period, starting at 9:00 am. A typical brick and flintwork course will start on a Friday morning in the classroom (our cottage kitchen) where basics of brick bonds, types of flintwork, foundations, lime mortar mixing is discussed and the most important subject of health and safety and hand out leaflets are given as a background reference to the course.

Mixing is in a site diesel mixer and is demonstrated at the farmyard just up the road, all ready to start after dinner at 12:30pm. How to build a pillar is taught in the afternoon until finish at 15:30pm. Saturday is spent on practical brick and flintwork mixing lime mortar is carried out by the students Saturday morning, all tools are supplied.

Our courses are flexible and can be tailored to your needs.

Payments

Payments for the courses can be made by either bank transfer or cheque but must be made prior to the beginning of your course. Discounts are available for bookings of three or more individuals so please get in touch to find out more.


Accommodation

Why not make a "Staycation" of your weekend, there are ample places to stay and being in the middle of the Norfolk Broads there are many areas of interest and enertainment. Near to our course location is the Queens Head Freehouse who can cater for guests with a double room and breakfast for £65.00.

Health & Safety

While lime mortar is a brilliant building material, contact with ones skin has to be minimised by covering both arms and legs, wearing eye and hand protection at all times. P.P.E is supplied inclusive of disposable overalls. The only items a student needs to bring are protective footwear.
